There are very few mill buildings that are listed and protected in any way. Some that are listed include : Wellbrook Beetling Mill (B+), Dyan Corn Mill (B+), Herdmans Mill (B+), Annalong Corn Mill (B+), Mary Brook Mills Crossgar (B+), Orrs Mill Benburb (B+)
Benefits - Support and expertise in restoration, heritage grants, shows leadership and enthusiasm to protect a site for future generations. Disadvantages - Restrictions to alterations to building (usually drawn up in contract or listed in documentation), potential costs to repair.
